OE parts or aftermarket? As a professional mechanic who has to stand behind his work and reputation, this is something we deal with everyday. While there are times I will use OE parts from the dealer, most of the time, we are using only quality aftermarket repair parts. The parts we use will either meet or exceed OE standards. The key for me is quality aftermarket parts. If you think that $19.99 alternator or starter from a discount auto parts store is quality, think again. I don’t know any of my peers who would install one on a customers car, and definitely not on there own ride!
